Day 1: Arrival to Paradise
Arrive in Ticino from Milan or Zurich International airports – Visit Locarno’s Italian piazza and the beautiful shores of Lake Maggiore on our bike or walking circuit, the “Terreni alla Maggia” – Stop at the Tereni all Maggia farm for cheese and wine tasting – Discover the picture perfect lakeside village of Ascona and its sun drenched water front walk, lined with cafes and intersected by narrow passages leading to boutiques, and fine restaurants - Dinner at an authentic Pizzeria
Day 2: Maggia Valley
Discover the stunning Maggia Valley either by our bike or hiking circuit, passing by 15th century stone hamlets, bridges, thundering waterfalls, and turquoise clear mountain streams – Enjoy a rustic Swiss-Italian lunch under the 250 foot tall waterfall in Foroglio – Enjoy swimming and sunbathing crystal clear alpine waters of the Maggia River – Dinner at a local restaurant to enjoy the Dolce Vita!
Day 3: Gotthard Pass and Dairy Farm
Take the scenic mountain train to the village of Airolo at the foot of the famous Gotthard Pass – Walk or bike to the Gotthard Dairy cheese farm where you will learn traditional methods of Swiss cheese making and even make your own cheese – Enjoy a walking or biking circuit of “Biasca Airolo” along the Leventina Valley and Ticino’s highest mountains and waterfalls - Enjoy an unforgettable lunch at the “Grotto due ponti” – Return by train before indulging in fine Mediterranean cuisine for dinner
Day 4: Bellinzona
Take the scenic train to Bellinzona, the capital of Ticino and visit its UNESCO World Heritage Site castles, stunningly positioned against alpine backdrops – Take the train to Lugano, Ticino’s largest and fanciest city and explore the city and the beautiful shores of Lake Lugano – Tranfer by train to Milan and spend the night in Milan
Day 5: Milano
Tour Milan’s famous galleries - Explore the pedestrian friendly shopping district, known at the “World Capital of Fashion” – Catch a glimpse of the snow covered alps and the city below from the top of the Duomo Cathedral – Enjoy Italian cuisine at its finest
Day 6: Departure or optional extension tours!
Morning transfer back to Milan or Zurich international airports - Option for extension tours to Venice, Tuscany, Cinque Terre, and more!
